By High-Speed Rail via Mudanjiang
Harbin to Mudanjiang in ~1.5–2 h, then a ~2 h bus to the gates (about ¥25); Jingpohu HSR station sits only ~8 km and a ~¥20 taxi from the scenic area — confirm schedules on hotline 4000-453-166, or charter a taxi (~¥300–500).
By Train to Dongjingcheng
Ordinary trains from Mudanjiang (~1 h) stop at Dongjingcheng, only ~29 km — a 30–40 minute taxi or rural-bus hop — from the North Gate.
By Air (via Harbin)
Mudanjiang Hailang Airport has been closed since 30 March 2025 for reconstruction — fly to Harbin Taiping and continue by high-speed rail, or use Suifenhe Dongning Airport, which took over the domestic routes.
By Car
Mudanjiang → G11 Hegda Expressway → 'Jingpohu' exit → 15.7 km to the North Gate (~90 km, ~1.5 h); from Harbin ~418 km, 4.5–5.5 h. Set the navigation for the North Gate, check which gate is open that day, fit snow tires or chains in winter, and budget ¥10/day parking for a small car.
On a Northeast Loop
China Snow Town ~160 km away, Yabuli and Hengdaohezi on the corridor toward Harbin, and Changbaishan ~250 km south — Jingpo Lake slots neatly among them all.
Getting Around
Inside the main area the sightseeing bus (~¥30/day, unlimited rides) links falls, piers and lakeshore; private cars stay outside the core zone and hotels are reached by shuttle. The Crater Underground Forest lies ~50 km from the main lake — since October 2026 ticket-holders may drive their own cars into the crater park free of charge.
