The park reads as one stone-and-forest loop: shuttles link the zones, gentle boardwalks do the rest, and the light rewards early starters. These notes blend official guidance with recent travelers' on-the-ground experience.
Suggested Itinerary
- Half Day — The Stone Essence
Shuttle straight to A Thread of Sky for morning light through the slot → Zhenhai General → Maitreya Summit spur for the photographers' panorama → Oxygen-Bar Boardwalk, bridge and waterfall → shuttle back. About four hours. - One Day — The Full Six-Zone Loop
The half-day route plus the Forest Guanyin boulder, a climb of the 360° sightseeing tower, the moss-cloaked Hidden-Valley Adventure zone and a slow circuit of the Virgin Korean Pine Forest — 4–5 unhurried hours with a trail lunch. - Two Days — Rocks, Pines & Dinosaurs
Day 1: the full loop, then wontons and barbecue in Tangwang county town. Day 2: drive 74 km northeast to Jiayin Dinosaur National Geopark — 13 assembled skeletons, the 1902 'First Dragon of China' dig site and the Russia-border Heilongjiang River (entry about ¥65).
What to See
A Thread of Sky
Walls 26.13 m and 17.97 m tall part by 35–45 cm — turn sideways, walk through, look up at the ribbon of blue; early sunbeams make the classic photo.
Lucky Stone & the Mimicry Rocks
One slope-side cluster that reads as Doujin Stone, Pegasus Rock or Arhat Turtle from different angles — with Elephant-Trunk Stone and Rice-Measure Stone nearby.
Xing'an Stacked Rock
Horizontal joints and spheroidal weathering built a 'whispering rock' — speak softly on one side and a partner hears you on the other.
Forest Guanyin & the Sightseeing Tower
A natural boulder in a seated Guanyin's silhouette, and the only 360° deck above the canopy — the park's best panorama, gold and crimson in autumn (optional ~¥20).
Oxygen-Bar Boardwalk, Bridge & Waterfall
Gentle wooden walkways threading streams and boulder fields — reported negative-ion counts of 8,000–10,000 per cm³ in summer, with tame chipmunks for company.
Virgin Korean Pine Forest
Primeval Pinus koraiensis, birch groves, a lingonberry viewing garden, windstorm relics and old fire scars — 1,240+ recorded species and an open-air lesson in forest succession.

Tips from Real Travelers
Food & Drink
Wild Blueberry Everything
The park even keeps a lingonberry (笃斯越橘) viewing garden; across Yichun the wild bog bilberry turns into juices, jams and pastes.
Northeast Iron-Pot Stew
The region's beloved 铁锅炖 — fish, chicken or ribs bubbling with mushrooms, potatoes and corn in one big iron pot.
The Forest Table
Wild mushrooms, wood ear and mountain vegetables — the Lesser Khingan's pantry on a plate.
Tangwang Wontons & Barbecue
Tangwang county town's well-reviewed wonton shops and Northeastern and Korean-style barbecue — the after-hike standard.
