By Public Bus

Route 216 runs from Yemingzhu on the city side (¥10) to the Visitor Transfer Centre; then the on-site shuttle system (¥35).

By High-Speed Rail

Yichang East (宜昌东站), then the 809 intercity bus from the adjacent coach centre — ¥18, about 70 minutes, roughly hourly 07:00–15:00; confirm the dam stop when boarding, as some runs bypass it. A taxi runs ~¥100–120.

By Car

The dam zone is a controlled area — apply free for a vehicle pass (dam-area reservation mini-program or the roadside checkpoints) and park at the transfer centre.

With a Tour

Dam + Gezhouba + Xiling Gorge cruise day packages from ¥98; cruise-and-dam itineraries pair naturally.

By Cruise

Chongqing–Yichang Yangtze cruises from ¥1088 pass through the locks as part of the voyage.

Getting Around

On-site shuttle buses link the three zones on the fixed circuit; private cars park at the transfer centre outside.
