Rail + shuttle

Chengdu East to Huanglong-Jiuzhai station (about 1.5 hours), then transfer buses to the scenic gate (about 1 hour).

From Jiuzhaigou

Two daily buses (about 2.5 hours) link the two valleys - the classic pairing.

Fly

Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport is 40 minutes away; airport buses to the gate run when full, unreliable in low season.

Long-distance coach

Long-haul coaches from Chengdu's Chadianzi station climb the Minjiang valley to Chuanzhusi; transfer buses cover the hour to the gate - the old-road alternative to the train.

Self-drive / tour

Chuanzhusi town is the road hub; combined Jiuzhai-Huanglong tours from ¥605.

Getting Around

One cable car (ascent) plus the single boardwalk spine; everything else is on foot along the dragon's back.
