High-speed rail + bus

Changsha/Guangzhou to Hengyang East, then direct buses (about 50 minutes) to Nanyue town; Hengshan West station is closer still, 15 minutes by connecting bus.

By conventional rail

Classic Beijing-Guangzhou line trains stop at Hengshan station - direct buses to Nanyue (¥5, 20-40 minutes) run 07:30-17:30.

Direct coach

Changsha and Hengyang stations run frequent coaches to Nanyue town's visitor center.

Self-drive

About 2 hours from Changsha via the Xuchang-Guangzhou expressway; parking at the visitor center.

Blessing day tour

Changsha day packages from ¥278 covering Grand Temple, shuttle and Zhurong Peak.

Getting Around

Shuttle buses link the visitor center, cable base and South Heaven Gate; the summit is on foot (or sedan chair, still offered to pilgrims).
