Guangzhou Chimelong Tourist Resort

广州市长隆旅游度假区·Guangzhou, Guangdong·South China

Asia-scale safari park with the world's only panda triplets, thrill coasters, water park and a nightly circus — Guangzhou's 5A one-stop resort in Metro-linked Panyu.

Chimelong turned Panyu, on Guangzhou's southern edge, into one of the world's busiest playgrounds: a first-batch national 5A scenic area (rated 2007) that draws more than 20 million visitors a year, the first Chinese resort to take Thea Award honors in the 'World's Best Theme Park' class, and widely billed as China's most popular one-stop tourism resort.

The one-stop promise is literal. One campus holds the Safari Park — among Asia's largest wildlife parks, with drive-through reserves, walk-through habitats and a sky cable car drifting over the herds — beside the coaster-heavy Chimelong Paradise, the world-class seasonal Water Park, the free-flight Birds Park and the nightly International Circus, with three themed hotels threaded between them. Days run morning to lights-out: pandas and coasters by day, circus after dark.

Getting there is half the appeal: Metro Lines 3 and 7 stop at Hanxi Changlong with a covered walkway to the gates, and Guangzhou South HSR — two metro stops away, with direct trains from Hong Kong West Kowloon — makes the resort an easy cross-border weekend. Entry is real-name, so book with your passport and carry the same document to the gate.

Highlights

1

Chimelong Safari Park

One of Asia's largest wildlife parks: drive-through reserves and a sky cable car over the herds, with giant pandas — including the world-famous triplets — plus koalas and white tigers.

2

Chimelong Paradise Coasters

The 10-Loop, Motorbike Launch and Vertical Drop headline a coaster hill that pairs white-knuckle thrill with family rides like the Dream Carousel.

3

Chimelong Water Park

A world-class summer water playground (April–October), starred by the rocking Rock Wheel — Guangzhou's favorite way to beat the subtropical heat.

4

Birds Park Free-Flight Shows

Flamingo lakes, wetland boardwalks and the 'Hundred Birds Song of Flight' — cranes and waterbirds taking to the open sky.

5

The International Circus

The flagship evening show: multi-national acrobats in a domed arena, running nightly — book ahead; it anchors the resort's after-dark half.

6

Themed Hotels, Multi-Park Packages

Safari-atrium Chimelong Hotel, family favorite Panda Hotel and Xiangjiang Hotel — guest packages bundle multi-park unlimited play, usually the best value.
