China's first film theme park — the 'cradle of New China cinema' reborn as flying domes, 4D cinemas and a mythic night epic, on one three-day ticket.
Changying Century City (长影世纪城) is what happens when a film studio decides to build its own world. It was raised by Changying Group — heir to Changchun Film Studio, founded in October 1945 and honored as 'the cradle of New China cinema', the studio behind The White-Haired Girl, Battle on Shangganling Mountain and Liu Sanjie, trainer of more than 2,000 film talents and dubbing voice of 3,000 foreign pictures. When the park opened in May 2005 on a 350,000 m² first phase, it became the first attraction in China to marry the film industry with tourism — an 'Eastern Hollywood' in all but latitude. National 5A status followed in 2015.
The park is not a coaster field but a dense campus of special-effects cinemas — fourteen official attractions. Soaring Over Huaxia lifts rows of riders 13 metres toward a wraparound flying dome (its new film Exploring the World's Secret Realms premiered globally in April 2026); Interstellar Adventure pitches multi-axis seats inside a 23-metre motion dome; the iceberg-shaped Crystal Mountain houses a 25 m × 18 m giant 3D screen; and the 4D Extreme Lab sprays, blows and vibrates through its cartoon chaos. Between them sit a dark indoor shuttle, Changchun's first suspended coaster, the 66-metre Freedom Tower, haunted halls stalked by live 'zombies', and stage shows rooted in the studio's own classics.
All of this sits in the Jingyue district immediately west of Jingyuetan National Forest Park — itself a 5A lake-and-forest park — so park and lake form one big resort belt in Changchun's southeast. Because nearly everything is indoors, it doubles as one of China's best bad-weather and deep-winter parks (Changchun runs −15 °C in January). In summer the gates simply keep going: the 'Marvelous Night of Mountains and Seas' night tour stages the live epic Battle of Zhuolu with a cast of 35 and 100-plus shows a season, plus drone formations and fireworks on weekends — and the signature 'one ticket, three days' face-recognition rule means you never have to rush.
Highlights
Soaring Over Huaxia
The flagship flying dome theater: your seat pivots 180° and lifts 13 m before the screen flies you over waterfalls, forests and an erupting volcano. Ride it first — it draws the longest queues.
Interstellar Adventure
A 23-m motion dome inside a Rubik's-cube building — multi-axis seats rise, jolt and tilt through a deep-space voyage. High thrill index; restricted for some health conditions.
Giant Screen 3D Theater
A 25 m × 18 m screen inside the iceberg-shaped Crystal Mountain, the park's photo landmark — the 3D Jungle Adventure puts the beasts at arm's length.
4D Extreme Lab
Seats that sneeze along with you: water spray, air blasts and ticklers as a long-nosed elephant, a fire-breathing cobra and runaway white mice star in the family favorite.
Suspended Coaster & Freedom Tower
Cloud-Soaring Dragon, Changchun's first suspended roller coaster, plus the 66-m Freedom Tower with forest-sea views — the thrill pair (seasonal pauses happen, so check status).
Marvelous Night of Mountains and Seas
The summer night tour's live epic Battle of Zhuolu — fire, water, wire-work and holographic light, with drone formations and fireworks on weekends and holidays.
